Institutional Research

There are many outstanding Horror Production studios that have produced several famous horror movies, but I have chosen a select few that really caught my eye and have starred in the best horror films made.

Hammer films

Hammer Films is a film productions company based in the United Kingdom, it was founded in 1934 and the company is best known for its series of Gothic ‘Hammer Horror’ films made from the mid 1950’s. Hammer Films has produced many science fiction, thrillers, film noir and comedies, also in its later years it produced a television series. Hammer Films produced some of the most classic and famous films around such as Dracula, The Mummy, Frankenstein and The Phantom of the Opera. Recently Hammer Films has produced The Woman In Black, which was a huge success , staring David Radcliffe.

Miramax Films

Miramax Films is an American entertainment company, founded in 1979 by Bob and Harvey Weinstein. Miramax was a leading independent film motion picture distribution and production company before it was acquired by The Walt Disney Company in 1993.  Miramax has produces hundreds of Films throughout the years, ranging from comedies, thriller, horrors, romance etc. Some of the films include Jeepers Creepers, Bad Santa, Adventureland and Bridget Jones. However some of their most famous horror films include Halloween, Scream and Scary movie.

Universal Pictures

Universal Pictures is a very famous  movie production company, founded in 1912 by Carl Laemmle, it is the fourth oldest in the world that still continues production. Universal Pictures has produced hundreds of Famous films since 1912, and still continue to produce them. Some of their most famous horror films include Jaws, Chucky , The Birds, Psycho. Some of their most recent movies are The purge, The curse of Chucky, and Dead Silence. Average gross of all movies is $42,246,039.

All of these film production company’s are very famous and have all produced a range f classic Horror films over the years.
