Prelim Evaluation

Prelim Evaluation

The prelim task was mine and Olivia’s first encounter of actually making a short film. We had no experience of actually planning, writing, shooting and editing a film, this was all new to us. We started off by getting ideas for our film by making a mind map and a story board, this way we were able to plan shots that we wanted to take. When we completed our storyboard we decided who we wanted to play our actors and which props we needed ect.

After our planning we were able to take out the video camera and start to shoot our film. Me and Olivia had no experience of shooting a film and had to be shown the basics by our teacher. We used a tripod to steady our video camera as we had to shoot the video ourselves and at one point we were both on the screen. We found it very challenging to get the timing just right when we were both being filmed at the same time, but it enabled us to widen our videoing skills.

When we had finally finished videoing all of our shots we put them on to Final Cut to actually make it into a film, we had also not used this application before and had to be shown the basics, but after a white we got the hang of it and were away in no time. After fining the music on You tube we downloaded it and put in into our video. We ha ten finished our shot film and were able to put it on to You tube.

We worked very hard creating this short film and we are proud of what e achieved in a short time. If I were to create another short film o do this again I would spend more time planning it to make sure we had the exact shots we wanted and so we could write out a script. This would make us more organized and prepared for our film. Over all me and Olivia are very proud of out video and we believe that w worked hard to achieve it.
